CASAC: Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counseling
New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services
Medaille College has partnered with the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS) to provide two non-credit courses that meet the full 85-hour requirement of the Education & Training Compliance Protocols, Section One.
These are non-credit courses; all are welcome to register. There are no prerequisites.
If you are a graduate of Medaille College's Mental Health Counseling Program, the requirements of the remaining sections can be met with your mental health counseling degree as long as at least 25 hours of your internship are done in an approved addictions setting.
If your degree is from another institution, check with OASAS to find out how your education will be applied.
These courses will be offered in a hybrid format. That is, each class will include only eight (8) hours of classroom time and the rest of the work will be done in an online/independent study format.
