Advisory Board Department

The undergraduate major in Computer Information Systems is designed to provide graduates with the knowledge, abilities, and attitudes to function effectively as programmers/system analysts, network administrators and application developers. The curriculum, built on a strong liberal arts foundation, offers theory and skills courses within the Computer Information Systems program, while also presenting ample opportunities to acquire competencies and skills from business-related courses. As an authorized Novell Education Academic Partner (NEAP), we are able to offer Novell certified courses to fortify the student in the areas of local area networking and network administration. In addition, Medaille, an urban college in close proximity to business and governmental agencies, affords a variety of field experience settings in information systems through computers. The curriculum provides the technical and business competencies for entry-level success, for adaptation to changing requirements in technical and organizational environments, and for advancement in the information processing profession.
