Explanation of Education Expenses

1. Tuition: covers cost of academic, student, and administrative services.
2. College Fee: applied by the College for support services.
3. Technology Fee: covers the cost of student's access and use of computers, and on-line and information technology services. This fee does not include additional costs which individual courses may require.
4. Graduation: covers a portion of programs, diplomas, and other related expenses.
5. Transcript Charge: covers materials and postage required to produce and send the student's transcript as requested by the student.
6. Application Processing: covers the cost of processing a student's application for admission to the College.
7. Acceptance Deposit: confirms the student's enrollment and reserves his/her place in the College. This $100 fee is applied toward the first tuition payment. The housing/damage deposit of $100 is to reserve on-campus housing and is a retainer for possible damages incurred. Refunds of this fee are at the discretion of the Director of Residence Life.
8. Orientation Fee: applicable to new students, the fee covers materials, food service, postage, and programming costs for orientation to the College.
9. Certificate Fee: fee charged by New York State for award of the education teaching certificate.
10. Assessments Required by Special Courses: some courses incur additional charges. These charges are assessed only to the participating student.
