Curriculum and Instruction
(M.S. in Ed.)

Program Description

In its early years, Medaille College focused exclusively on an undergraduate program for teachers in elementary education. As a result of its recognized expertise, Medaille College was invited by the New York State Department of Education to be a model in designing a competency based teacher education program.

Our education program has been preparing qualified teachers for over 60 years. The College's excellent reputation in the community is evidenced by the high rate of employment of Medaille graduates in local schools.

The Curriculum and Instruction Program provides the academic requirement for permanent certification in elementary education for provisionally certified education professionals and provides a Master of Science in Education degree for those who have already achieved a baccalaureate degree. The goal of the program is to produce graduates who can effectively design, implement, and evaluate curriculum. Students can choose to specialize in the integrating of either the arts, innovative middle school strategies, or technology into the curriculum.
