Patrick Johnson, M.B.A., C.P.A.

Associate Professor and Acting Chair, Business Department

Patrick Johnson (pjohnson@medaille.edu) joined Medaille College in 1992, bringing with him a diverse background in public and private accounting. He earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Niagara University and an M.B.A. in accounting and finance from Saint Bonaventure University. He is also a certified public accountant. Johnson is an active member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. Through the NYSSCPA he visits area high schools to promote the accounting profession. When not at work he is a music leader at his church and enjoys drawing and spending time with his children.



Douglas Anderson, M.F.A.

Associate Professor

Douglas AndersonDouglas Anderson (danderson@medaille.edu) joined Medaille College in 1985, having taught previously at Texas A&I University. In 1993, Random House published his novel, First and Ten, a murder mystery about the Buffalo Bills. Anderson has also published in Texas Monthly, Kirkus Reviews, and small press magazines, and has edited legal and juvenile books. During a sabbatical in 1998, Anderson taught himself webmaking, nonlinear information design, Javascript, database programming, and web server management. They helped him to develop the proof-of-concept prototype web site at RicciStreet.net that has replaced printed textbooks in his courses and created a community of learners supplementing his face-to-face classes. Anderson is an enthusiastic bicycle rider and budding videographer and he enjoys collecting Devonian (350 million years ago) fossils from creek beds around Western New York. Luis Borges, Ph.D.

Assistant Professor

Luis BorgesDr. Luis Borges (lborges@medaille.edu) received his Ph.D. from Marquette University in 1997, and began teaching in Medaille's Business Department in 2004. Previously, Dr. Borges taught at the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh, and the Technology Institute of Monterrey, campus Estado de Mexico. He has more than fifteen years' experience consulting in energy, telecommunication, and building/construction industries. The main focus of his research is continuous improvement applications.



Kevin Bosner, Ph.D., C.M.A.

Visiting Assistant Professor

Kevin BosnerKevin Bosner began teaching in Medaille’s Business Department in 2007. Prior to this, he held positions at St. John Fisher College, SUNY Geneseo, SUNY Brockport, and RIT.

He has experience teaching courses in accounting, finance and management. Before he began his career in teaching, Bosner held management positions at such companies as Germanow-Simon, Chili Plastics, IMPCO Direct Marketing, and Case Hoyt Printers. He is a Certified Management Accountant and is also certified in Business Process Re-engineering.

Bosner holds an M.B.A. in finance & accounting from RIT, and completed his Ph.D. in organization and management from Capella University in 2007. He is a member of the Institute of Management Accountants, the Financial Executives Institute, the Society of Human Resource Managers, and Golden Key International Honour Society.



Richard L. Jacob, Ph.D.

Director of the Sport Management Program, Assistant Professor

Rich JacobDr. Richard L. Jacob (rjacob@medaille.edu) has been teaching and coaching at Medaille since 1995. He served as Medaille’s first full-time athletic director and first full-time head basketball coach. Currently a full-time faculty member, Dr. Jacob serves as director of the sport management degree program. He earned a Ph.D. in counseling, school and educational psychology from SUNY Buffalo, and M.S. in physical education from Canisius College, and an M.S.Ed. in educational counseling from Niagara University. Jacob has taught courses in sport psychology, sport marketing and promotion, sport economics, and sport facility planning and management.



Michael Lillis, Ph.D.

Associate Professor

Michael LillisDr. Michael P. Lillis (mlillis@medaille.edu) began teaching at Medaille in 1992, where he has been a major catalyst for change and institution building initiatives. Dr. Lillis guided the original development and state certification of the M.B.A. curriculum and program offerings in Amherst. As a professor, Dr. Lillis directs the business internship program, and teaches courses in organizational behavior, human resources management, operations management, statistics, and business strategy in the undergraduate and graduate programs. Having earned a Ph.D. in management and organizational behavior from the State University of New York at Buffalo, Dr. Lillis currently focuses his research on understanding how managers make decisions within organizations. He has numerous presentations and publications in the area of organizational justice, decision making, work design and organizational culture. As an organizational consultant, Dr. Lillis has conducted field research with the DuPont Chemical Company, Western New York Technology Development Center, Children’s Hospital of Buffalo and the Buffalo Police Department.



Kenneth Radig, M.B.A.

Associate Professor

Kenneth Radig (kradig@medaille.edu) began teaching at Medaille in 1980, specializing in marketing, consumer behavior, direct and interactive marketing. He has also taught in the General Education program, with a continuing interest in education across the curriculum. He is especially interested in the integration of liberal arts and the career areas. Radig has studied theology, and has a great interest in religion and church affairs. He has a strong interest in music, especially classical, and he served as a church organist for many years. He also enjoys boating, having owned all types of boats from small runabouts to large cruisers.


Robert Tian, Ph.D.

Associate Professor

Robert TianDr. Robert Tian (rtian@medaille.edu) earned a Ph.D. from York University with a specialization in social anthropology, with a post-doctoral M.B.A. from Wilfrid Laurier University in Marketing and Management. He has received awards for published papers and for service from organizations in Canada, China and the United States. Dr. Tian's grant-supported research and peer-reviewed publications have looked at consumer behavior and cross-cultural studies in marketing.



Lonni Wilson, M.A.

Assistant Professor

Lonni WilsonLonni Wilson (lwilson@medaille.edu) began teaching at Medaille in 2005, and is completing his doctoral work at The Ohio State University in sport management. He previously earned a master of fine arts in Film from the University of Miami, and a master of arts in sports and fitness management from the University of San Francisco. Wilson's scholarship focuses on curricular issues in sport management and effective sport management pedagogy. Of particular interest is the use of technology in sport management education. His primary teaching interest is the supervision of professional development and internship programs, with subject area interests of marketing, finance, law and the sociology of sport. He developed and maintains the web site, www.sportmgmt.com, for all of his courses.
