Deborah Ceppaglia

Associate Professor, Senior Director of Special Academic Services

Deborah Ceppaglia has been with Medaille College since 1995, with experience in library operations, academic affairs, and as a full-time faculty member. She has developed courses for the College’s Student Success Program and general education curriculum. Along with serving on numerous College committees, including Faculty Council for the past several years, Ceppaglia is the coordinator of the College’s Commencement ceremonies and Honors Convocation.

She is the Board Secretary for the Zonta Club of Buffalo, and participates in national and state organizations dealing with academics, learning and libraries. 

Liz Evans, M.L.S.

Visiting Assistant Professor, Librarian

Liz Evans was appointed visiting assistant professor in 2007. She is the technical services librarian, a position she has held part-time since April 2006. She received her master's of library science from SUNY Buffalo in 2005.

Prior to working at Medaille, Evans was the technical services librarian at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery Library. She is also on the Regional Automation Committee and the Resource Sharing Committee through the Western New York Library Resources Council. She is also a founder, board member and parent of a child at the Elmwood Village Charter School in Buffalo, NY as well as a board member on the Western New York Charter School Coalition.



Pamela R. Jones, M.L.S.

Assistant Professor, Library Systems Coordinator

Pamela Jones was appointed library systems coordinator in 2006.  As the library systems coordinator, she is responsible for the overall management of the library’s support services.  This includes cataloging, acquisitions, and electronic resource management.  Prior to coming to Medaille, Pam worked as a librarian at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library, the Eastman School of Music, and the University at Buffalo.  She earned a B.A. in music in 1981, a B.A. in history in 1982, and a master’s of library science in 1984, all from the University at Buffalo.

Pam is active at the Western New York Library Resources Council, serving on the Regional Automation Committee, the Regional Digital Heritage Advisory Subcommittee, and the Resource Sharing and ILL Delivery Task Group.  Her research interests are in workflow redesign, managing technology, and organizational management in the Web 2.0 world.  She blogs at http://reflections-jones.blogspot.com/



Samantha Purpora, M.L.S.

Assistant Professor, Librarian

Samantha PurporaSamantha Purpora has been public services coordinator / librarian at Medaille College Library since March 2006. Her main responsibilities are supervising the reference and circulation desks, including interlibrary loan. In addition, Purpora enjoys teaching information literacy classes to Medaille students and faculty and maintaining the Library’s web site.

Prior to coming to Medaille, Samantha received her master's in library science from the University at Buffalo in December 2000, and was a reference librarian at Daemen College in Amherst, NY and a reference librarian at the Humanities and Social Sciences Department at the Buffalo and Erie County Public Library’s Central branch.

Purpora is an active member of Western New York Library Resources Council (WNYLRC). She represents private academic institutions and is Chair of the Digital Heritage Advisory Subcommittee, as well as a graduate of the first Leadership Institute at WNYLRC. In her spare time, Samantha has enjoyed being a tap and jazz dance instructor at Darlene Ceglia’s Dance Project in Kenmore for the past ten years.



Andrew Yeager, M.L.S.

Assistant Professor, Librarian

Andrew YeagerAndrew Yeager, M.L.S., coordinates instruction services for the Medaille Library and currently is serving as Interim Library Director. His primary focus is to insure that Medaille students are able to effectively and efficiently locate and use the vast array of information resources available through the Medaille Library. The outcomes of these efforts are collectively known as “Information Literacy." Much of this work takes place at the freshman level, and as a result Yeager is engaged in the Information Literacy continuum from High School to College.

Like all the Medaille Librarians, Yeager is active in many regional library activities. He currently serves as President of the Western New York-Ontario Association of College and Research Libraries. He also chairs an advisory committee for a regional consortium of libraries participating in Ask Us 24/7, which is a virtual reference service. Yeager serves the Buffalo community at large by chairing the Advisory Board for the Buffalo School Library System.
