Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology
Medaille College offers the Doctor of Clinical Psychology (PsyD) in Buffalo as a full-time, five-year, practitioner-oriented program that prepares students for careers as licensed psychologists. Graduates are prepared to engage in the ethical and diversity-sensitive practice of professional psychology. We provide training in psychological assessment, psychotherapy, consultation and clinical leadership. You will gain a firm grounding in the scientific and clinical underpinnings of psychology to deliver effective diagnostic and therapeutic services.
Classes held twice per week on consecutive days
Over 1,000 hours of supervised practicum experience in assessment and therapy
One-year pre-doctoral internship under the supervision of qualified psychologists
Clinical dissertation in close consultation with your faculty advisor
The Medaille Family Counseling Center serves as a counselor-in-training facility for students enrolled in Medaille College’s Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology. This unique collaboration between Lake Shore Behavioral Health and Medaille is a fully licensed Lake Shore mental health outpatient treatment location offering families and individuals evidence-based mental health therapy. The state-of-the-art facility affords graduate level students an in-depth, first-hand learning experience that is unparalleled in Western New York.
