Master of Arts Graduate Program
Medaille's master of arts degree in mental health counseling is a fully accredited program that meets the NYS education requirements for Licensed Mental Health Counselors. Our program is designed for people who are interested in entering the field of mental health counseling, and for those who are already in the field and are looking for career advancement. The MHC program prepares students for the NYS licensure exam, and Canadian students who graduate from the MHC program are eligible for Canadian Counselor Certification. With a program format that requires class attendance just one weekend a month along with 700 hours of clinical experience, you can change your career and change your life.
Our faculty have extensive experience in the foundations and practice of mental health counseling and their work can be found in numerous scholarly publications. Medaille’s faculty hold doctorates in psychology, counseling psychology, counselor education and clinical psychology. MHC faculty are private practitioners who bring “real-world” experience to their sudents. They are dedicated to creating a thoughtful, engaging and supportive learning environment.
All classes except Internship take place at our Amherst campus, conveniently located off the NYS Thruway in Williamsville, NY at 30 Wilson Road.
