Careers

Students from our program have done their internships and gone onto careers in such organizations as:

  • Suburban Psychiatric Associates

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, "employment of psychologists is expected to grow faster than average . . . through 2014, because of increased demand for psychological services in schools, hospitals, social service agencies, mental health centers, substance abuse treatment clinics, consulting firms, and private companies."

What can you do with your master's in psychology? Some states and some positions require a master's degree as a minimum requirement. With the additional training and experience you'll receive with this advanced degree, you will be prepared for positions with social services agencies, schools, medical/psychiatric settings. You will also be ready to start in a doctoral program, which can lead to state licensure as a psychologist and the ability to have your own practice.
