TRIO Workshop Schedule, Fall 2008
Stop in to the TRiO Office, located in the Academic Skills Center, Room M321, or call (716) 880-2214 and set up an appointment time, specifying which Personalized Workshop you’d like. When you come for your appointment, a TRiO Counselor or ASC Professional Tutor will conduct a workshop just for you. If you’re interested in learning more about a math or English topic that’s not among those listed, just tell one of the TRiO Counselors.
General Workshops
1) Test Taking Skills/Test Anxiety
Wednesday, September 24th
12:30-1:00
This workshop will discuss the test-taking process, with an emphasis on preparation as well as strategies to use during the test or quiz. The discussion will also include ways to deal with and alleviate test anxiety.
2) How to Talk to Your Instructor
Wednesday, October 1st
12:30-1:00
The importance of maintaining good communication with instructors will be emphasized, as well as tips on the actual communication process.
3) Graduate School
Wednesday, November 5th
12:30–1:00
The process of applying to graduate school will be discussed, along with a discussion of specific majors.
