Academic

Art & Photography
The Art & Photography Club provides students with opportunities for creative expression in the visual arts and access to the art studio and photography darkroom. Students experience cultural events, such as visual art exhibitions in WNY.

Criminal Justice Club
The purpose of the Criminal Justice Club is to increase the student involvement in the Criminal Justice department at Medaille College. It will also provide extracurricular experiences and opportunities to current criminal justice majors and other students at Medaille.

Future Teachers Club
The Future Teachers Club gives students in the Elementary Education program (as well as other interested students) the opportunity to engage in activities and events that will further broaden their experience in the education field.

School of Education Graduate Student Society
The School of Education Graduate Student Society (E.G.S.S.) is designed to facilitate student engagement. Rooted in the principles of educational, professional, and social development, the E.G.S.S. welcomes all graduate students as active citizens of the Medaille community. More »

Life Sciences Club
The Life Sciences Club was founded to advise, support, and counsel all members of the Biology Program. The club wishes to expose its members to issues relating to the life sciences professions, enabling them to plan their professional careers and to become more effective members of their chosen professions.

Psychology Club
The Psychology Club's main goals are to get members of the Medaille community involved in on-campus and off-campus events that will broaden their view of what is going on in the field of psychology today. Field trips to psychiatric centers, psychology talks with accompanying videos, and lectures are planned throughout the year.

Sport Management Assist Team
The Sport Management Assist Team is a club that works along with the Sports Management major: it is their goal to make connections in the working world that will help members out in their careers. The team will provide all club members with the opportunity to talk to professionals in the sporting world about current issues. The team will also provide programs and intramurals sports, which is open to all Medaille students.

Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE)
SIFE is a partnership between business and higher education that is preparing the next generation of entrepreneurs and business leaders to create more sustainable enterprises, build stronger communities and create a world with greater opportunity for everyone. Students are led by faculty advisors who challenge them to develop projects that specifically meet the unique needs of their communities. SIFE teams will present the results of their community projects annually at regional, national and international competitions.

Vet Tech Club
The Vet Tech Club welcomes all students of Medaille to join an organization that is involved in many activities, which promote education of the public regarding wildlife, pet care, and animal husbandry. This organization is dedicated to educating people on the vital role of the veterinary technician.

Communication

Perspective
The Perspective’s mission is to accurately inform readers and create interest, while bringing truth to light. The Perspective will lead with integrity; news will be balanced and unbiased. Students who work on the Perspective publish regular issues of this award-winning newspaper, and gain experiences that will prepare them for the future. In 2006-07, the publication was recognized by the New York Press Association as one of the top three college newspapers in the state, and won third place in design excellence. The American Scholastic Press Association also reviewed the Perspective and awarded it a first place in its national competition for 2006-07 and first place special merit for 2007-08.

Prelude
Each year, the Prelude produces the Medaille College literary magazine. This magazine provides an opportunity for students to publish their fiction, poetry, non-fiction, prose, and artwork in a public venue.

WMCB - The Lizzard
WMCB – the Lizzard is Medaille’s very own radio station. The station is run by students with the direction of two advisors. Students from all majors serve as the station’s DJs during assigned shows once a week, based on availability. The student DJs and music can be heard during the school year online at www.medaille.edu/wmcb/.

Cultural

Multicultural Association
The Multicultural Association contributes to the overall growth and well being of Medaille College by providing representation to students from diverse backgrounds and varied interests. The group also assists in the campus-wide coordination and planning of activities and programs that provide a cultural experience for the entire campus.

Women’s Club
The Women’s Club purpose is to get all members of the Medaille College community involved in the club’s on and off campus events, which will broaden their view of what is going on in today’s society. The organization will support, motivate, and preserve excellence in the field of women’s studies. The club provides fellowship for members, leadership and effective action for community initiatives, and national networks on women’s issues.

Recreational

Cheerleading
The Medaille College Cheerleaders support athletic endeavors and enhance enthusiasm at Medaille. The Cheerleaders work hard to prepare for competitions and for cheering at men’s basketball games. They meet several times per week to practice dance routines, chants, cheers and jumps. The Cheerleaders encourage all students to participate in this organization and help cheer the Medaille Mavericks to victory!

Dance Team
The Medaille College Dance Team is a campus club formed to provide an opportunity for students with dance ability to perform at campus functions while demonstrating school spirit. In addition to performances and practices, the club also places emphasis on physical fitness and leading a healthy lifestyle.

Fencing Club
The purpose of the Fencing Club is to bring together all the Medaille community and students into a productive recreational activity. The club is open to all students who show an interest in the goals of the “Medaille Fencers.”

Ice Hockey Club
The Ice Hockey Club is an opportunity for students to play a fast paced, exciting sport and be a part of a growing team. They give fans the chance to participate by coming to games and buying team t-shirts. Their goal is to be a part of the Division 3 club hockey league next year and a Division 3 Ice Hockey Team in the future.

Medaille Mavericks Athletics Promotional Team – “Promotions Club”
The Promotions Club members provide promotional support all Medaille College athletic teams and clubs, while encouraging the student body to get involved and catch the school’s spirit. Go Mavs!

Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC)
The Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is intended to establish and maintain an environment in which a student-athlete’s athletics activities are conducted as an integral part of the student-athlete’s educational experience. We encourage the development of sportsmanship and foster positive societal attitudes.

Service

Club Green
Club Green’s purpose is to promote environmental awareness through a campus-wide recycling effort. Club Green participates in the annual Recyclemania competition and also provides events and education around issues of environmentalism.

Commuter Student Council (CSC)
The Commuter Student Council was founded by commuters for commuters in 2005-2006. This group has hit the gas pedal and is speeding along to plan events and programs for the college’s commuter population. Featured programs are the Commuter Lunch Series, Commuter Ice Cream Social and the Commuter Student Appreciation Day.

Helping Hands Club
The Helping Hands Club strives to unite members of the Medaille Community with members of the Buffalo Community through volunteer work and community service. While typically gearing activities towards youth, any and all suggestions are welcomed. All students, of any major, are invited to join in our effort to unite helping hands together to make a difference.

Medaille Music and Drama Club (MMD)
The Medaille Music and Drama Club gives students the ability to share their talent with others through choral practices and performances. Membership is open to all students, and performances include special functions on and off campus.

Resident Student Council (RSC)
The purpose of Resident Student Council (RSC) is to provide Medaille resident students with the opportunity to voice concerns and offer suggestions about their Residence Life experience. The group also provides many programs and activities of interest to resident students and the Medaille community throughout the year.

Voices of Harmony (Gospel choir)
The purpose of the choir is to provide extra-curricular activity to both resident and commuter students. Voices of Harmony members will learn how to read and properly sing music; the club will serve in the community by performing at local venues.

Student Activities Board

Student Activities  BoardThe Student Activities Board (SAB) is the primary programming body for campus activities. This group of students works with the Coordinator of Student Activities to provide quality programs and activities for all students. Joining SAB is an excellent opportunity for students to be involved during their college years. Student Government Association

The Student Government Association (SGA) unites all its members in a commitment to the ideals for which Medaille stands, to expand the co-curricular life, to coordinate all student organizations, and to act as a medium through which student opinions can be expressed. SGA serves as the liaison between the student body, faculty, administration, and the Office of Student Affairs. The SGA consists of volunteer students, elected by students at Medaille College.
