Kerry Spicer
Welcome to the Student Involvement Center at Medaille College!
My name is Kerry Spicer and I am the Director of Student Involvement. I was born and raised in Western New York and have traveled all over the country and the world. I attended SUNY Fredonia for my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Women’s Studies. Upon graduation, I moved to New York City for a year before returning to my roots and graduate school at Buffalo State College. I have my Master’s degree in Student Personnel Administration and am entering my fifth year at Medaille College.
The Student Involvement Center is a brand new initiative here at Medaille. We strive to develop new and current student leaders at all levels of leadership development through programming, trainings and conferences. We pride ourselves in helping our students distinguish themselves as campus and community leaders.
The Center itself houses the Emerging Leaders Program, the True Blue & Gold Leadership Program, Student Activities, Student Government Association and over 22 active Clubs and Organizations. We have two full time administrators in the office, two Graduate Assistants, Graduate Interns, 4 work study students and many other students who help run the office on a day-to-day basis!
The 2007-2008 school year promises to be an exciting one! Make sure you get involved and take advantage of all the Student Involvement Center has to offer!
Lakeisha Flood
Welcome to Student Activities, where you can do it all! Student Activities is one-third of the Student Involvement Center. My name is Lakeisha Flood and I am the Coordinator of Student Activities. I was born and raised in Buffalo, New York and I attend the Buffalo Arts Academy. After high school I attended the Ohio State University and University at Buffalo. I received a Bachelor of Arts in Health and Human Services, as well a completed a minor in dance. I have a Master’s degree in Student Personnel Administration from Buffalo State College.
I started working at Medaille in 2005 as the Graduate Assistant for Student Activities, under the direction of Kerry Dieckman. This year as the Coordinator of Student Activities, I want to encourage all students to get involved and participate in co-curricular activities!
As a staff member in the Student Involvement Center, I hope to be a part of the creation of satisfactory educational, cultural, social and leadership opportunities for the Medaille College students. Student Activities works with the Student Government Association (SGA) to support the development of student clubs and organizations. Currently Medaille has over 22 active clubs and organizations with room for more! Any Medaille student has the opportunity to get involved with any club, as well as create a new club or organization.
To get involved with any student activities, clubs, or organizations, feel free to stop by the Student Involvement Center in the Sullivan Campus Center 215. You can also e-mail me at lflood@medaille.edu or Instant Message (IM) me at MavActivities.
Have a great year!
