Medaille College: Freakin' Amazing

College Colors Day returns
on Wednesday, September 13, 2017!

  • Join us during the day on September 13 on our Buffalo campus for breakfast, games and activities, photo booth fun, giveaways, Perry’s ice cream, Lloyd Taco Truck during lunch hours, “Why I Love Medaille” note-writing, and more!

  • Stop by the Rochester campus Monday through Friday from 4:30 to 6 p.m. that week for treats, giveaways and photo opportunities (to be included in our Medaille community photo collage).
  • Attend our inaugural #MedaillePride Awards Social at 5 p.m. on September 13 for a celebration that will include live music, hors d'oeuvres, drinks, cake and an awards presentation.
  • Show your #MedaillePride, wear your Medaille colors and participate in social media contests and festivities from anywhere.
  • Volunteer to work a shift at the tables in the Sullivan Center, interacting with Medaille students and community members by signing up here.
  • Volunteer to serve as a social media ambassador that day by signing up here

*Winners of all contests will be announced on Friday, September 15.

  • Submit an individual photo and/or a group photo
  • Group prize is a pizza party
  • Individual prize is a Fitbit provided by the Medaille College Alumni Association


Full Schedule of Daytime Festivities on the Buffalo Campus (Sullivan Center, 1st Floor):

  • 7:30 a.m. – Breakfast treats and coffee provided by Chartwells
  • 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. – “Why I Love Medaille” note-writing and raffle entry
  • 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. – Pickup basketball, KanJam and other games/activities
  • 12 p.m. – Medaille-themed cupcakes, sponsored by Student Involvement and provided by Megan Anderson '13, '14
  • 12 to 2 p.m. – DJ and music provided by WMCB
  • 12 to 2 p.m. – Lloyd Taco Truck on campus
  • 12 to 3 p.m. – Photo booth by Ayres Photography with fun props and special appearances by Mavericks Cheerleading and “Maximus,” our MaverickWhy I love Medaille Stickers
  • 12:30 p.m. – Medaille bandana giveaway (*first-come, first-serve)
  • 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. – FREE ice cream provided by Perry’s Ice Cream
  • 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. – 20% discount (with coupon) to the Medaille College Bookstore


#MedaillePride Awards Social in the Medaille Events Arena (Sullivan Center): 

  • 5 p.m. – Hors d’oeuvres and drinks served, music by Harry Graser and mingling
  • 5:30 p.m. – Remarks and presentation of the following awards:
    • The Distinguished Alumni Award, The Distinguished Young Alumni Award, Outstanding Volunteer Award, Honorary Alumni, Medaille Pride Faculty Award, Medaille Pride Staff Award and Medaille Pride Student Award.
  • 6:15 p.m. – Cake is cut and served, music resumes and guests can mingle


“Why I Love Medaille” Notes and Raffle:

  • Submit your “Why I Love Medaille” note for inclusion on the wall at our Buffalo or Rochester campus:
    • Stop by the Sullivan Center from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on September 13
    • Stop by the Rochester campus between 4:30 and 6:00 p.m. from September 11 to 15
    • Submit it on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using #CollegeColorsDay and tagging @MedailleCollege
  • Any current Medaille student who submits a note will be entered into a raffle to win gift card prizes sponsored by the Medaille College Student Government Association


Residence Hall Door Decorating Contest:

Work with your roommate to show your school spirit and deck out the outside of your hallway door in Medaille-themed décor! To be eligible for the gift basket prize (which includes a $100 Medaille College Bookstore gift card provided by the Student Alumni Association), you must follow the rules and guidelines listed below:

  • Visit the Student Development Office to pick up starter supplies
    • Supplies will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis while quantities last
    • You may use additional materials outside of those provided
  • Decorations must be finished and a picture of the finished door submitted through Instagram, Facebook or Twitter, tagging @MedailleCollege and using #CollegeColorsDay, by 8 a.m. on Wednesday, September 13
  • No more than 50% of your door may be covered in paper or plastic
  • No lights may be used
  • You must be able to go in and out of your door without difficulty
  • No vandalism, profanity or vulgar content are allowed
