Assistant Professor/Program Director, Mental Health Counseling Program

The Department of Graduate Counseling and Psychology at Medaille College’s Rochester Campus is actively seeking applications for a non-tenure-track, clinical assistant professor to teach in the Mental Health Counseling Program and to serve as the Program Director. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Counselor Education, Counseling Psychology, or closely related field and current licensure as New York State Mental Health Counselor. The successful candidate should have significant graduate level teaching experience, as well as clinical and clinical supervision experience. Responsibilities include teaching a wide variety of graduate-level courses.

The college is beginning a new master’s degree program in Mental Health Counseling at its Rochester Campus, which will provide academic preparation for students who wish to pursue licensure as a Mental Health Counselor in New York State (LMHC). The program is designed for working adults and classes are offered in a weekend format. Assistant Professor/Clinical Coordinator, Mental Health Counseling Program

The Department of Graduate Counseling and Psychology at Medaille College is actively seeking applications for a non-tenure-track, clinical assistant professor to teach in the Mental Health Counseling Program and to serve as the Clinical Internship Coordinator of that program at its Rochester Campus. The successful candidate will teach graduate-level courses in Mental Health Counseling, advise/mentor students, provide service to the graduate programs, the department and the college, as well as serve as a clinical supervisor to student interns. Administrative Assistant to the Vice President for Academic Affairs

Medaille College is seeking a full-time Administrative Assistant to the Vice President for Academic Affairs to perform a variety of administrative duties.

The successful candidate will be required to perform general office duties and must possess excellent technical, organizational, and communication skills. Proficiency is required in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to create documents for, but not limited to, spreadsheets, charts, posters, graphs, databases, and correspondence. Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor, ALP

Medaille College is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time, non-tenure track, Clinical Assistant Professor position in the Department of Management and Leadership at its Rochester, New York, campus. Qualified applicants must possess an MBA or business related master’s degree, significant business-related experience, and successful college teaching. Areas of expertise include, but are not limited to: financial/managerial accounting and finance, leadership and strategic management, entrepreneurial/small business management. CPA, CMA, or other professional credentials a plus.

This is a twelve-month position in a non-traditional accelerated learning format. Courses are seven weeks in duration and the academic year is from July 1 through June 30. Although the position is at the Rochester campus, the successful applicant will be willing to travel several times a month to either the Buffalo or Amherst, New York, campuses for meetings or committee work. This full-time position requires significant time to be spent on college and department related activities in addition to required classroom teaching.

Dean of Student Affairs

Medaille College invites applications for a full-time Dean of Student Affairs. The Dean will lead numerous initiatives that support academic programs, seek to maximize the overall experience and as an end result, create a learning-centered campus environment. Assistant Professor for Literacy

Medaille College is seeking applicants for a tenure-track position of Assistant Professor in Literacy to begin August 15, 2010. The successful candidate will become part of the School of Education Literacy Program which offers a masters degree in Literacy. This program prepares graduates to become empowered classroom teachers, reading specialists, and/or literacy coaches/consultants. Literacy faculty also offer classes in reading to both undergraduate and graduate students pursuing their initial certification in education.

The School of Education seeks candidates with expertise in reading research and theory, extensive knowledge of the processes of literacy acquisition as well as the assessment and intervention for the struggling reader and writer, and extensive early childhood/elementary teaching experience. The candidate must possess a terminal degree in Literacy/Reading or expect to complete a doctorate by the fall of 2010. A minimum of 5-7 years of teaching at the preschool-elementary level is required. Successful college-level teaching is preferred. Assistant Professor Special Education

Medaille College invites applicants for a tenure-track position of Assistant Professor in Special Education to begin August 15, 2010. The position in special education emphasizes collaboration and the active integration of methodology. The successful candidate should be able to teach both undergraduate and graduate courses about the IDEA and NCLB; have documented successful experience in special education; have coursework/experience in the positive support model; have experience in application of effective educational methods and differentiated instruction in content areas (social studies, language arts, math, and science) with students with diverse learning needs. The Candidate should possess expertise in special education research and theory, knowledge of academic skill development, and experience in the area of student assessment and individualized program planning. The candidate must possess a terminal degree in Special Education or expect to complete the doctorate in the fall of 2010. A minimum of 5-7 years of special education instruction is required. Assistant/Associate Professor for the PsyD Program

Adjunct Instructors

Medaille College seeks adjunct instructors to teach on-line classes in its proposed Bachelor in Professional Studies in Health Information Administration (BPS HIA). Building Mechanic*

Job Description

  • Perform preventative and corrective repairs to building facilities in areas of Electrical, plumbing, HVAC, grounds, and carpentry; included, but not limited to, are repairs on sinks, toilets, dishwashers, refrigerators, hot water heaters, and electrical appliances.
  • Installing lighting and plumbing fixtures as needed.
  • Painting and assisting with renovations of residential apartments and other areas as requested.
  • Tasks are assigned and completed based on a work order system, which necessitates prioritizing, scheduling, and completing tasks while minimizing disruption to students, faculty, and staff.
  • All other duties as assigned by Facilities Manager and/or supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS OR QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum five years experience as a maintenance laborer and/or lead with prior building maintenance experience and a working knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, masonry, and electrical.
  • The ability to read blueprints and overlays, to use and maintain various hand tools, power tools, and carpentry tools.
  • Must have the ability to work with the resident students and campus community in a professional manner and handle concerns as requested.
  • Applicants holding a state boiler station license and/or combination of state electrical and plumbing licenses will be considered first.
