HelpDesk

The HelpDesk is not a location but a multi-faceted source of information and assistance designed to help members of the Medaille College community solve their technology problems. Support may involve email exchanges, on-site lab/classroom assistance, telephone voice advice, and online process/procedure references.

Visit the IT web site for detailed procedural guidelines, how-to instructions, reference materials and downloadable resources. If your issue is not addressed there, E-mailing HelpDesk@medaille.edu is the preferred method of initial contact; you may also use the "Ask the HelpDesk" online form. This allows staff at different locations to monitor, properly refer, and/or respond directly to inquiries. Make sure you include your name, username, and return contact information, along with a brief description of your problem.

Situations requiring immediate attention should be phoned in to 880-2282.

Buffalo campus assistance can be received in the H209 PC lab, the H202 Multimedia lab or at the 107 Humboldt Ave. office. Amherst campus assistance can be received in room 110.

Please be aware that IT staff members are not authorized to troubleshoot, reconfigure, or clean a student's personal computer. Hands-on assistance with individual computers is limited to configuring access to Medaille's wireless network. The functioning and operation of personal computers is the owner's responsibility.

Prior to visiting any IT office, check for its specific hours of operation. Hours are posted on the IT web site.
