The Office of the Registrar is responsible for reviewing and conferring degrees and for printing diplomas.

All students MUST apply for graduation through MedailleOne. Failure to do so by the published deadline (March 1, 2018) could result in a delay of diploma and/or graduation conferral date.  View graduation application instructions

If you do not apply, we will not know you are ready to graduate and will not review your program or confer your degree.

Certificate Students

Students applying for a certificate, will follow the same process of applying for graduation as degree seeking students. The fee for applying for a certificate is $10.00.  View certificate application instructions

Diplomas

Diplomas are mailed out approximately four to six weeks after each conferral date.

Diplomas are mailed certified mail "return receipt requested" to the address indicated on each graduate's graduation application. If your address changes between the time you apply for graduation and when your degree is conferred, please contact the Registrar's Office immediately so that your diploma is mailed to the right place.

  • A signature is required upon delivery. The post office will attempt delivery three times. If no one is there to sign for it, the diploma will be held at the post office for pick up.  After a certain period of time, it will be mailed back to the Registrar's Office where it will be kept
  • Diplomas will be mailed once all financial, academic, and student affairs holds are resolved

Should your diploma arrive damaged, contact the Registrar's Office immediately.

Students who have lost their diploma may order a replacement. Medaille College does not issue "extra" diplomas. We will only issue a replacement if the diploma is lost, damaged, or stolen. Please use the Diploma Reorder Form to request a replacement.

Commencement Ceremony

Medaille College's annual commencement ceremony is a time for celebration and recognition of accomplishment. It is held in May of each year.

Students who graduated within the past year are eligible to participate. Also, students who are within six credits of degree completion and who have applied for August conferral are eligible to participate. Students must have an active graduation application to participate. All students who intend to participate in their graduation ceremony must wear the appropriate academic regalia.

Commencement Documents and Information

Ticket orders can be placed by graduating students only through the Eventbrite website which will be available April 18 - May 18. There will not be a charge for ordering guest tickets.

Students who applied for graduation will receive an email invitation from Medaille College to allow the applicant to order and print up to 8 tickets.

Please note this invitation will be sent to Medaille email accounts only.

Tickets are required for all guests attending the ceremony and will be scanned for verification prior to entry at Kleinhans Music Hall. No admission ticket is required for graduates.

GRADUATE CEREMONY SPEAKER

NICHOLAS SINATRA
CEO, SINATRA AND COMPANY REAL ESTATE

Founded by Nicholas Sinatra in 2009, Sinatra and Company Real Estate is an investment firm focused on Western New York and Chicagoland distressed multi-family and retail real estate. 

In 2012, Mr. Sinatra expanded his footprint into California as the founding partner of American Residential Partners, the precursor to American Coastal Properties.  American Coastal Properties is the boutique residential real estate investment firm that specializes in repositioning properties in coastal California markets.  In total, Sinatra & Company Real Estate and its affiliates have $330 million in assets under management with over 1.5 million square feet of real estate in upstate New York, Chicago, and Southern California.

He was involved in the development deal that brought Geico’s 2,300 job call center to Amherst, NY.

A graduate of Yale University with a B.A. in political science, Nick Sinatra also received his MBA with a concentration in Real Estate Finance at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.

VICTORIA ROSS
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, WNY PEACE CENTER

Victoria Ross, Executive Director of the WNY Peace Center, is a social worker and peace activist. She provides Peaceful Conflict Resolution that emphasizes just solutions to problems in settings as diverse as in schools, on the street, in governmental offices, and/or in the community.

Ms. Ross often focuses on children and youth, co-facilitating PeaceJam Buffalo, and Camp Peaceprints.  She offers a variety of workshops for children, youth, and adults, that promotes  nonviolent direct action.

Ms. Ross was one of the “Hancock 38”, arrested over drones operated outside Syracuse. She is a frequent op-ed writer and interviewee, and also consults for the Interfaith Peace Network.

A qualified Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Master Social Worker, she has a Master of Social Work from Boston University and a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy with a concentration in International Economic Development from Tufts University’s Fletcher School.  Her credentials also include a Diplôme from the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva, Switzerland.

In her spare time, Ms. Ross also plays jazz (strings and keyboards), and uses yoga for dog whispering.

UNDERGRADUATE CEREMONY SPEAKER

CHERYL PERRY COLVIN, M.D.
Emergency Medicine Physician

Dr. Cheryl Perry Colvin is currently the Interim Medical Director of the Emergency Department at Cape Fear Valley Hospital located in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Cape Fear Valley Hospital is a Level 3 Trauma Center and is among the 50th busiest emergency departments in the nation.

Dr. Colvin grew up in Lackawanna, N.Y. and graduated from Lackawanna High School in 1986. She served eight years on active duty in the United States Air Force. While serving her country, she completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry and graduated Cum Laude. In 2006, she graduated from East Carolina’s Brody School of Medicine. She returned to New York to complete her Emergency Residency in 2009. In 2010, she received her certificate from American Board of Emergency Medicine; in 2013 she was granted a Fellowship in Academy of Emergency Physicians. She continued her education at Methodist University, graduating with a Masters in Business Administration with a Concentration in Health Care. She was inducted into Delta Mu Delta International Honor Society. As a consummate health care professional, Dr. Colvin completed the Black Belt Lean Six Sigma Health Care training and anticipates certification in the near future.
