English with a Creative Writing concentration fosters students’ artistic talents for creating fiction, poetry,
drama and narrative video, all within the context of a
solid foundation in literature and other
humanities. students will acquire well-rounded
communication skills, facility with language, and expertise in
computer-based document and multimedia applications from
accomplished
faculty who are themselves published writers of fiction, poetry and
non-fiction, or who are multimedia or video artists. theory, workshop, and
practical publishing courses deliver a truly comprehensive learning
experience, combining knowledge of poetics and aesthetics with
opportunities for internships as well as providing the
self-marketing
information needed for freelance work.
moreover, the strong core of classes chosen from the humanities curriculum
(art, literature, and
philosophy) will enable students to develop
reflective intelligence by presenting for critical examination world
classics of human thought and expression, the fundamentals of
philosophical rigor, and creativity in various disciplines.
