The Office of the Registrar is responsible for reviewing and conferring degrees and for printing diplomas.
All students MUST apply for graduation through MedailleOne. Failure to do so by the published deadline could result in a delay of diploma and/or graduation conferral date. For detailed instructions, click here.
If you do not apply, we will not know you are ready to graduate and will not review your program or confer your degree.
Students applying for a certificate, will follow the same process of applying for graduation as degree seeking students. The fee for applying for a certificate is $10.00. For detailed instructions, click here.
Diplomas are ordered approximately two weeks after each conferral date. It typically takes 7 business days from the date of order for the diplomas to be mailed.
Diplomas are mailed certified mail "return receipt requested" to the address indicated on each graduate's graduation application. If your address changes between the time you apply for graduation and when your degree is conferred, please contact the Registrar's Office immediately so that your diploma is mailed to the right place.
- A signature is required upon delivery. The post office will attempt delivery three times. If no one is there to sign for it, the diploma will be held at the post office for pick up. After a certain period of time, it will be mailed back to the Registrar's Office where it will be kept
- Diplomas will be mailed once all financial, academic, and student affairs holds are resolved
Should your diploma arrive damaged, contact the Registrar's Office immediately.
Students who have lost their diploma may order a replacement. Medaille College does not issue "extra" diplomas. We will only issue a replacement if the diploma is lost, damaged, or stolen. Please use the Diploma Reorder Form to request a replacement.
Medaille College's annual commencement ceremony is a time for celebration and recognition of accomplishment. It is held in May of each year.
Students who graduated within the past year are eligible to participate. Also, students who are within six credits of degree completion and who are applied for June or August conferral are eligible to participate. Students must have an active graduation application to participate.

Ticket orders can be placed through the Eventbrite Ticket Request Form which will be available April 15-May 15. Tickets are required for all guests attending the ceremony and will be scanned for verification prior to entry at Kleinhans Music Hall. No admission ticket is required for graduates.

About John R. Koelmel
John R. Koelmel is a business and community leader who, for the last forty years, has brought passionate, energetic, and engaging leadership to both his professional responsibilities as well as his many and varied roles in serving organizations across Western New York.
Most recently, he was entrusted by Terry and Kim Pegula with the responsibility of overseeing the start-up operations of HARBORCENTER, the sports and entertainment destination in Canalside on Buffalo’s waterfront. In his role as President of the unique complex, he led the development of the talent, service and business model that launched a very successful opening in October 2014. HARBORCENTER has quickly become the foundation for redevelopment of the Canalside District, making clear that it will attract world-class events and activities along with hundreds of thousands of guests and visitors throughout the year.
Prior to joining HARBORCENTER, John spent seven years as the President and CEO of First Niagara Financial Group. Under his leadership, First Niagara Bank became one of the top 25 banks in the United States, with almost $40 billion in assets, 400 branches, and 6,000 employees.
John began his career in 1974 with what is now KPMG, the worldwide audit, tax and advisory firm. During his twenty-six year CPA career with them, he served a wide-range of clients, both locally and across the northeast. He was also Managing Partner of the Upstate NY Business Unit, which included offices in Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, and Albany.
John has assumed numerous and varied leadership roles in the community. He is currently Chairman of the Board of Kaleida Health (WNY’s largest health care system) as well as Vice-Chair of Great Lakes Health, Chairman of the New York Power Authority, Chairman of the Board of the Buffalo Center for Arts and Technology and a member of the WNY Regional Economic Development Council.
John has been recognized for his work with numerous local and national honors, including Citizen of the Year by the Buffalo News and Man of the year by The Buffalo Renaissance Foundation – both of those honors received in 2012. John was also recognized in 2009 as Community Banker of the Year by American Banker.
John resides in East Amherst with his wife Marsha, Senior Partner of Catapult Consulting. They have a total of five children.

About Matthew Enstice
Matthew Enstice is the President & CEO of the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus (BNMC). In this role, he is leading a pioneering initiative to integrate health care services, life sciences, clean energy, and education in an effort to revitalize the city of Buffalo.
BNMC is a consortium of the region’s premier health care, life sciences research, and medical education institutions, all located on 120 acres in downtown Buffalo, New York. The BNMC is dedicated to the cultivation of a world-class medical campus for clinical care, research, education, and entrepreneurship.
Through Matthew’s efforts, local neighborhood leaders, foundations, multi-national corporations, NGOs, research labs, hospitals, and educational institutions are collaborating to create a model for reenergizing the city that has application all over America.
Prior to returning home to Buffalo, Matthew worked in the entertainment industry in Los Angeles and New York, for Broadway Pictures, and with Lorne Michaels at Saturday Night Live.
Matthew holds a B.A. in English from Hobart College and a Master of Business Administration from Canisius College.
He is currently active on the boards of SAGE Global (Students for the Advancement of Global Entrepreneurship), Buffalo Renaissance Foundation, Zeron Foundation, Buffalo Niagara Partnership, Anchor District Forum, Jacob’s Institute Review Committee, Daemen College President’s Business Advisory Board, and is on the Advisory Board for the School of Visual Arts Design for Social Innovation in New York City.
Matthew is married and lives in Buffalo, NY with his family.
