A student in the Medaille College MBA program, a superior design engineer at Northrop Grumman and a proud Eagle Scout, Al lived life to its fullest. The Allen Lee Downing Memorial Scholarship has been established to ensure that Allen’s passion for higher education can help others do the same. Established at Medaille College in honor of Alexander Paul and Charlotte T. Dzierba by their family and friends. The scholarship pays tribute to their enduring traits of self-initiative, life-long learning, and deep abiding love for family.
Awarded to students pursuing degrees in Education, Child and Youth Services, and Health and Human Services. The scholarship is based on academic ability and financial need and is given to students whose career focus is to help others.

The instructors were knowledgeable and welcomed class discussions, with
respect for each student's contribution. I've learned how to be a more
effective leader. My capstone class gave insight on how to combine all
the education learned to operate a business. That's when I realized how
