How would you describe Buffalo in one word? Relaxed
What advice do you have for first year students? I would advice 1st yr students to make sure that they attend classes because it is very important to stay on top of the work and not fall behind. Also, if you are a resident student make sure you leave your door open for the first couple weeks of school so that you can meet other students living in your residence hall. Students should also make sure to get involved on campus and participate in as many activities as possible because it is a great way to meet people and become more familiar with Medaille. Lastly, I would recommend getting organized because you will accumulate a lot of papers and worksheets throughout the semester.
What would you tell a first year student to pack to better prepare
themselves for school?
-An Agenda because you need to be able to make sure what homework is due for what class because it is not always the same. Also, it is an easy way to organize your daily schedule so you don't forget to turn something in or go to an activity that you signed up for.
-Sports Equipment
-Dress Clothes, because if you try to get a real full-time job your going to have to go through an interview process and wearing jeans and a t-shirt will not cut it.
-Mattress Pad, so you can be even more comfortable
-Backpack, because there can be some books that are a little to heavy and they need to be put in a back-pack.

Hometown/High School: Grand Island, NY/ St Joseph's Collegiate Institute On-Campus activities: SGA, Intramurals Off-Campus activities/internships/jobs: Admissions Ambassador, hopefully a law office internship starting in the fall

I chose to come to Medaille because of its excellent and recognized Sports Management program. I also chose Medaille because of the small class sizes, the friendly faculty and administration, and the location of the beautiful campus.

My favorite thing to do in Buffalo is to go out to eat. There are so many great restaurants in this city, I don't think it's possible that I could even narrow down my top five!

Buffalo in one word= Neighborly

The advice that I have for first year students is to not take your free time for granted. Unlike high school, you will have way more free time on your hands whether it is between classes or after classes. And although it may be tempting to watch TV or hang out with your friends, just make sure you stay on top of your work, because it never stops coming.

I would tell a first year student to pack an alarm clock. Sometimes when you have to be at that really early class, or major meeting, this necessary item will remind you when you forget, and will hopefully be loud enough to get you out of bed.

Try joining at least one club or taking part in a workshop or activity that is different from anything you've ever done and introduce yourself to everyone. You would be amazed at what interests you and who you would become friends with.
