In fall 2011, Medaille College established a Four Year Graduation Guarantee that will impact undergraduate students at the Buffalo Campus.

This guarantee defines how all first-time, full-time freshmen can graduate within four years. Medaille is the first private college in the region to offer this promise to its undergraduate students.

“We have always been a learner-centered college and our evolving programs, new facilities and grant-making successes are reinforcing that historical commitment,” said Medaille College President Richard T. Jurasek, Ph.D. “We are becoming a respected innovator and are increasingly recognized and trusted by outsiders who believe us when we say that Medaille cares about its students’ success above all things.”

Medaille is the first private local or regional college to introduce the concept of a Graduation Guarantee to its students. The Graduation Guarantee will save a student thousands of dollars in tuition and student loans associated with a fifth year of college. An additional year of college means interest continues to accrue on Unsubsidized Stafford Loans, at a rate of 6.8 percent in 2011-12, Alternative/Private Educational Loans, and PLUS Loans for Parents, at 7.9 percent in 2011-12.

First-time, full-time freshmen students will sign an agreement outlining their commitments and responsibilities. If the student follows commitments, the student will graduate in four years.
Medaille will waive tuition for any remaining coursework within following academic year. Similar agreements have been cited as a nationwide trend by the NY Times and other publications.

I'm grateful for the education I've received.

The instructors were knowledgeable and welcomed class discussions, with
respect for each student's contribution. I've learned how to be a more
effective leader. My capstone class gave insight on how to combine all
the education learned to operate a business. That's when I realized how
much I had sharpened my knowledge.
