About Dr. Jadwiga Domino:

Dr. Jadwiga (Hettie) Domino (jdomino@medaille.edu) has taught mathematics and statistics at Medaille since 2001. She earned a master's degree and Ph.D. in mathematics education from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Her current research interests center on the use of manipulatives in the teaching and learning of mathematics. She has also done research on the following: effective and ineffective teaching of mathematics, how teachers influence students to change their attitudes toward mathematics, how teachers can help their students overcome math anxiety, and how future elementary teachers of mathematics understand mathematics. Dr. Domino teaches Introduction to Algebra, Intermediate Algebra, Statistics and Society, Concepts in Mathematics, Operations Analysis and Modeling, Probability and Statistics II, Adolescent Math with Practicum, and Methods in Adolescence Education - Mathematics.
