Instructional Technology Specialist

Medaille College seeks an Instructional Technology Specialist to help integrate technologies both hardware, and software, into Medaille College’s educational settings.

Requirements include but not limited to being a proficient planner, problem solver, and researcher. Advanced Internet skills including Blackboard and computer knowledge are also needed to effectively carry out tasks. Typical job duties include integrating technology into the curricula of various disciplines within the college. The Instructional Technology Specialist will work directly with instructors to implement technology into the classroom and provide suggestions on improvement, as well as educational software recommendations.

The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree, excellent verbal and written communications and time management skills.  Three to five years of experience is preferred.

Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs

Medaille College is accepting applications for an Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs who will report to the Vice President for Academic Affairs and will work collaboratively with five faculty division heads, and the directors of academic support units as a senior member of an integrated academic leadership team collectively responsible for all undergraduate and graduate programs and a diverse student clientele. In conjunction with faculty and staff, the AVPAA’s primary responsibilities will include the oversight and coordination of several strategic academic initiatives:

• assessment of student learning and institutional effectiveness,
• retention and student mentoring,
• the First-Year Experience program (including learning communities),
• the undergraduate general education curriculum,
• the Honors program,
• experiential and community-based education (including internships and service learning),
• grants to support academic projects,
• accreditation, and
• international partnerships.

Candidates must possess a Ph.D. and a minimum of five years’ teaching experience in higher education (some administrative experience preferred), demonstrate a commitment to collaborative leadership and student success, and embrace a diversified work portfolio.

Chief Marketing Officer

Medaille College invites nominations and expressions of interest for the position of Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). Serving in this newly created position, the CMO will lead the efforts to centralize the marketing and communications functions and will develop and execute a strategic and integrated marketing plan. The CMO will report directly to the President and oversee a staff of two, drawn from the existing enrollment and development offices, and to build the marketing and communications team. Working collaboratively with the President as a member of his senior leadership team, the CMO will build an operation that provides strategic marketing and communications direction across the College community.

With demonstrated communications and marketing administrative experience in the higher education, not-for-profit, business and/or public sectors, the candidate must understand, support, and promote the college’s mission and vision. It is essential the new CMO possess strong management and leadership skills, exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, and experience in developing and implementing new public relations, communications and integrated marketing strategies. Candidates should possess qualities of character and values that resonate with Medaille’s mission and culture of collaboration and must have the presence to represent the college both internally and externally. A bachelor’s degree is requisite; an advanced degree is preferred.

Marketing Specialist/Senior Copywriter

Medaille College seeks a Marketing Specialist/Senior Copywriter who will develop, write, and edit compelling copy for use in key Medaille on- and offline integrated enrollment marketing initiatives. The incumbent will collaborate with senior-level administration and creative teams, serving as steward of our brand voice as it translates to all marketing channels.

The position requires a Bachelors Degree plus and 5+ years of experience.  The successful candidate must have strong people and project management skills, solid portfolio demonstrating successful copywriting track record and knowledge of Associated Press Stylebook.  Excellent written and oral communication skills; creative problem solving, cultural sensitivity, teamwork and entrepreneurial thinker abilities are essential.

Part-Time Faculty, Buffalo Campus

Medaille College in Buffalo, NY is seeking applicants for part-time faculty in the Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology for the Fall 2013 and Spring 2014 semesters. Graduate level teaching experience is preferred. Specific openings are available in:

Clinical skills courses: psychological assessment, cognitive behavioral and family therapy. Applicants must have a doctoral degree in psychology from an APA-Accredited program and be licensed or license-eligible.

Broad and general curriculum: developmental psychology, research methods and psychometrics. For these courses a doctoral degree in psychology is required.

Network Engineer

Medaille College is accepting applications for a Network Engineer.  In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for day to day support and maintenance of all infrastructure devices including Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, Cisco VOIP and wireless systems.  This position will also provide infrastructure support for various devices/systems that are part of the network as well as server and system support.

A BS degree in a related field is preferred and five to seven years work experience is required.  The applicant must have strong communication skills, able to multi-task and work in a team environment.

Clinical Assistant Professor, Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology

Medaille College is actively seeking applications for a Clinical Assistant Professor to teach in the Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology (PsyD) at its Buffalo Campus. Applicants must have a doctoral degree in clinical psychology or a related specialty from an APA-accredited program and be licensed or license eligible in NY.  Successful applicants will have graduate level teaching, clinical supervision, dissertation advisement experience, and a strong record of clinical, scholarly, and/or professional activity. Interest and experience in scientific methods, psychological assessment, diversity, and/or clinical child psychology are preferred. 

The PsyD Program, which is designated as a licensure-qualifying program in New York, is based on the practitioner-scholar model and accepted its first group of students in September 2012.

School of Education:  Full-time, Tenure Track Assistant Professor in Literacy

Applicants are being sought for a tenure-track position of Assistant Professor in Literacy to begin August 15, 2014.  The successful candidate will become part of the School of Education Literacy Program which offers a masters degree in Literacy.  This program prepares graduates to become empowered classroom teachers, reading specialists, and/or literacy coaches/consultants. Literacy faculty also teach classes in reading to both undergraduate and graduate students pursuing their initial certification in education.

The School of Education seeks candidates with expertise in reading research and theory, extensive knowledge of the processes of literacy acquisition as well as the assessment and intervention for the struggling reader and writer.  The candidate must possess a terminal degree in Literacy/Reading or expect to complete a doctorate by the fall of 2014.  A minimum of 3-5 years of teaching at.preschool, elementary, or middle/high school level is required.  Successful college-level teaching is preferred.  The faculty at Medaille College is expected to consistently demonstrate scholarly growth.
