About Deborah Watkins:

Deborah Watkins is an Author “From Mediocre to Marvelous live a fulfilled life,” Public Speaker, and Trainer specializing in the areas of Diversity, Leadership, and Personal Empowerment.   She retired in 2016 from the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision after 33 years of service.  Starting in the Department as a Corrections Officer in 1982, Deborah has held several positions over the years, ending her career as a Deputy Superintendent for Program Services.  She was the first female executive team member at the Lakeview Shock Incarceration Facility, where she was responsible for all the rehabilitative services offered at the facility.  She gave oversight to over 100 employees.  Deborah serves as the statewide Vice President of New York State Minorities in Criminal Justice.  She is the Vice President of Education for ESB Toastmasters club and a member of Sigma Beta Delta honor Society.
