Cumulative Season Statistics

The Lady Mavs had another outstanding season, finishing 23-5 overall, 17-1 in conference and clinching their second consecutive AMCC regular season and conference tournament championships.  The team returned to the NCAA tournament for the second consecutive season, with an unfortunate early exit in the first round with a loss to SUNY Cortland.  With an upgraded schedule, four of the team’s five losses were incurred against schools ranked in the top twenty in the national polls.  Including a ten point loss to eventual Division III National Champions’ Depauw University.

Amanda Baker (Newark H.S./Lyons, NY) once again received Conference Player of the year honors for the third consecutive season.  She was also named to the All-East region second team.  Marisa Clark (Hilton H.S./Hilton, NY) was a First team selection for the All-East region as well as a member of the second team all conference squad.  The team finished ranked 5th overall in the East Region and 31st overall in the National Rankings.

The team loses sole senior Lauren Smith (Buffalo, NY/Kenmore East) to graduation but returns all (5) starters and key bench players.  A heavy six member senior class will lead the way for the 2007-08 season.  The team will look to repeat as conference champs and earn a bid back to the NCAA’s, hoping to prolong their stay in the tournament with the help of a strong recruiting class that will add depth to the team.
