Representatives from Buffalo-area houses of worship gathered at Medaille's Amherst Campus on July 26. As a group, the participants discussed mental health issues as they related to their ministry practice. A panel that included Lorie A. Hildreth, Ph.D of Medaille College, Jenny Laney of the Mental Health Association of Erie County and Karl Shallowhorn from Horizon Health guided the discussions.
According to Jerry Inglet, corporate and business community liaison, "Many of the participants were able to create connections and gather potential solutions to challenges they engage that relate directly or indirectly to the mental health of their constituents."
This event was the first of a series of meetings; the group is open to all religious denominations and will meet again on October 6, 2011 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at the Amherst Campus. Please contact Jerry Inglet at (716) 932-2563 for more information.

The instructors were knowledgeable and welcomed class discussions, with
respect for each student's contribution. I've learned how to be a more
effective leader. My capstone class gave insight on how to combine all
the education learned to operate a business. That's when I realized how
much I had sharpened my knowledge.
