Steven MacMartin was featured in a story on WGRZ Channel 2 News that documented how the September 11, 2011 terrorist attacks changed life in America.
MacMartin is a retired special agent from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and directs Medaille's online bachelor's degree program in homeland security, based within the College's School of Adult and Graduate Education.
He spoke of the law enforcement angle of homeland security, the impact of the Patriot Act, and the future of a need for homeland security professionals who can work within emergency management, corporate security and disaster response.
"... the government may not be the largest source of jobs for homeland security. I think there are a huge number of jobs out there in the private sector, health and safety managers at corporations... even small companies have concern these days with what they do in the event of an emergency," MacMartin said.

The instructors were knowledgeable and welcomed class discussions, with
respect for each student's contribution. I've learned how to be a more
effective leader. My capstone class gave insight on how to combine all
the education learned to operate a business. That's when I realized how
much I had sharpened my knowledge.
