Medaille College has been approved by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for the Yellow Ribbon Program, which provides up to $99,999 in funding to eligible students enrolled in academic programs for the 2012-13 academic year. In addition to being the maximum amount allowable under the federal program, Medaille will offer this to an unlimited number of students. This is the third consecutive year that Medaille has participated in the Yellow Ribbon Program.
“Medaille has demonstrated that it is committed to serving those who served,” said Sergio R. Rodriguez of Medaille’s Office of Veterans and Military Affairs. “We are continuing to make higher education accessible to our nation’s veterans, servicemembers and their dependents.”
The Office of Veterans and Military Affairs at Medaille College offers a comprehensive veterans benefits screening and works to ensure that veteran students are maximizing the benefits they have earned.
In addition to providing assistance with veterans’ education benefits, such as the GI Bill, the New York State Veterans Tuition Award and other veterans’ scholarship programs, the office also provides general New York State and federal benefits assistance for veterans and their families. Medaille offers veterans a $10,000 VETS Scholarship above and beyond state and federal assistance. The college has also been recognized by Military Advanced Education, Military Times and GI Jobs magazines as a military-friendly institution.
The instructors were knowledgeable and welcomed class discussions, with
respect for each student's contribution. I've learned how to be a more
effective leader. My capstone class gave insight on how to combine all
the education learned to operate a business. That's when I realized how
much I had sharpened my knowledge.
