Faculty from the School of Education participated in the panel presentation: Got Rights? Human Rights and the Vulnerabilities of School Children at the American Educational Studies Association Annual Conference.
Dr. Illana Lane, dean of the School of Education, and Dr. Virginia Batchelor, associate professor, presented, "Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking: Breaking the Code of Silence in School and Communities."
Dr. Craig Centrie, associate professor, presented “The American Dreams of Karen Refugee Youth and the Social Realities of Resettlement and Schooling: From Mandalay to Nickel City”.
The conference was held in November in Seattle, Wash.

The instructors were knowledgeable and welcomed class discussions, with
respect for each student's contribution. I've learned how to be a more
effective leader. My capstone class gave insight on how to combine all
the education learned to operate a business. That's when I realized how
much I had sharpened my knowledge.
