Dr. Alice Villaseñor, assistant professor of Humanities at Medaille, will travel to England this summer to share her research on Jane Austen, the famous nineteenth-century novelist.

At the June “Pride and Prejudice Conference” at Cambridge University, Dr. Villaseñor will speak about Jane Austen’s influence on Victorian novelist Charlotte Brontë. In July, she will return to the Chawton House Library for British Women Writers, where she was a visiting fellow in 2011, to discuss her research on the Austen family’s reading habits at a conference on “Pride and Prejudices: Women's Writing of the Long Eighteenth Century”

Also in July, Dr. Villaseñor will discuss the Austen family’s political activities at the “Locations of Austen Conference” at University of Hertfordshire.

I'm grateful for the education I've received.

The instructors were knowledgeable and welcomed class discussions, with
respect for each student's contribution. I've learned how to be a more
effective leader. My capstone class gave insight on how to combine all
the education learned to operate a business. That's when I realized how
much I had sharpened my knowledge.
