Current head coach Karen Shaddock and former Medaille women's lacrosse player Heather Boyzuck ('13) represented the USA as a part of the American International Sports Team that took part in the Lowland Lacrosse Tournament in Amsterdam in June.
The USA team was coached by Shaddock who led the Lady Mavs to a program best record (11-5) in her rookie campaign and she brought that success overseas as the USA team finished their tour as champions with a (6-0) record. That team also scrimmaged the Netherlands National team and upended them (8-2) to remain unbeaten.
The team was made up of girls from all over the United States but did have a heavy East coast influence. One of those team members was former Medaille great Heather Boyzuck who played well and helped the USA offensive attack in every game. For Boyzuck it was her second trip to Europe to play as she took part in games in Prague in the summer of 2011.
Coach Shaddock will look to build upon her successes of 2013 as she brings in her first recruiting class in hopes of winning an NEAC title in 2014. The Lady Mavs fell to Keuka College in the 2013 title game.
The instructors were knowledgeable and welcomed class discussions, with
respect for each student's contribution. I've learned how to be a more
effective leader. My capstone class gave insight on how to combine all
the education learned to operate a business. That's when I realized how
much I had sharpened my knowledge.
