On September 8, Joshua F. Jacobs '12 MOL was a distinguished speaker at the New York State Association for College Admissions Counseling (NYSACAC) annual Student Leaders in Admissions Forum at Nazareth College in Rochester, New York. He is currently an Admissions Advisor at Niagara University.

His presentation, entitled "Tools for Becoming an Effective Leader," focused on one of his favorite topics: effective communication. “When we communicate – we speak, listen, and observe," said Jacobs. "The ability to effectively communicate at work, home, and in life is perhaps one of the most important skill sets that a true leader needs.”

The Student Leaders in Admissions Forum is an opportunity for college ambassadors, tour guides, and student workers in admissions and their supervisors to network and learn.

Joshua was recently appointed a member of the ProZoo Board of the Buffalo Zoological Society. The ProZoo Board is comprised of a dedicated group of individuals whose main purpose is to raise funds and plan events to benefit the Buffalo Zoo.

I'm grateful for the education I've received.

The instructors were knowledgeable and welcomed class discussions, with
respect for each student's contribution. I've learned how to be a more
effective leader. My capstone class gave insight on how to combine all
the education learned to operate a business. That's when I realized how
much I had sharpened my knowledge.
