Merchants Insurance Group Establishes Marge Kafka Scholarship at Medaille


Merchants Insurance Group has established a $25,000 endowed scholarship at Medaille to honor Marge Kafka '90, a longtime member of the College’s Board of Trustees, as she retires from the company. Kafka has worked for Merchants for the last five decades. In addition to the company's donation, Merchants Insurance President Robert Zak made a personal contribution to the scholarship.

Medaille Alum and Current Student Receive Business First ‘40 Under 40’ Honors


Buffalo Business First recently announced its 2016 “40 Under 40” honorees, and the list includes a Medaille College graduate and a current student. Brandye Merriweather ’07, a Medaille MBA alum, and Maria Whyte, a current MBA student, are among the 40 local men and women under the age of 40 recognized for being successful in their professions and also highly involved in community activities.

Buffalo Business First recently honored 26 Buffalo-area women with Women of Influence awards for their incredible dedication to their organizations and their community, and the list includes two Medaille College alumnae.

Medaille MBA Students Excel During Capstone Presentations


Students completing their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degrees at Medaille College recently presented their final capstone projects to an audience of fellow students, faculty, special guests and members of the community. Each student in the MBA program must complete and present a comprehensive business plan for their capstone experience. 

Michael J. Moley ’07 Honored as Medaille’s Alum of the Year


The Medaille College Alumni Association honored Michael J. Moley ’07 with its 2016 Alum of the Year Award at the College's annual Alumni Golf Classic and Award Dinner on August 22 at Diamond Hawk Golf Course.

Medaille Recognizes Charles E. Moran, End of Comprehensive Campaign at Founders’ Day


Medaille’s Founders’ Day Celebration 2016 was held at the Lexus Club at First Niagara Center on June 9, and among the highlights was the recognition of Charles E. Moran, Jr. as the fifth member of the College’s Heritage Council. Moran, the chair of Medaille’s board of trustees, also served as co-chair of Founders’ Day 2016 with his wife, Diane, and fellow trustee Heidi Raphael '85.

Some of the most important and well-respected individuals in Buffalo’s public service, law enforcement and media communities came together to celebrate the Annual Medaille College Media Awards on March 21, 2016. The ceremony honors individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to the College’s communication program and community, and to extend special thanks to everyone who has helped make the program a success.

 

Kelly Miskovski ’11 Promoted to Mental Health Association Director


Kelly Miskovski ’11 was recently promoted to director of the information and referral program at the Mental Health Association of Erie County, Inc. The program helps individuals and families identify and understand the mental health delivery system while providing up-to-date information and referrals to mental health clinics, mental health professionals and area support groups.
