The Office of College Relations serves the College by championing its story to all audiences for the purposes of cultivating friends, building support, and generating the resources that enable Medaille to achieve its mission and vision. Primary responsibilities include alumni and donor relations, fundraising, corporate and foundation relations, integrated communications, and public relations.

The office also focuses on engaging Medaille’s growing Alumni Association population, which is currently comprised of over 16,000 graduates. The College’s Alumni Association Board of Directors work with the Office of College Relations to increase and enhance opportunities for alumni to support each other and the College. They also work in conjunction to develop alumni benefits and services, to host programs and events, and to share news with and about the Medaille community.

John P. Crawford (jpc334@medaille.edu) has over 20 years of leadership experience in development and organizational advancement in higher education and nonprofit sectors in Western New York. Prior to joining Medaille, he served as director of development at the University at Buffalo Foundation, Inc., where he increased revenue for the Schools of Public Health and Health Professions and Dental Medicine. He has served as the director of development at the American Red Cross, Greater Buffalo Chapter, executive director of Camp Fire Council of Buffalo and Erie Co., Inc., campaign associate at SUNY Brockport and sports and venue manager for World University Games ’93.

In addition to his professional experience, Crawford is an active member of the Rotary Club of Williamsville and community service chair for Rotary District 7090, which encompasses Western New York and Southern Ontario. He holds a master of science in applied public affairs studies from the University at Buffalo and a bachelor of arts in international politics from the Pennsylvania State University.

Christie Frontera (christie.l.frontera@medaille.edu) graduated from the University at Buffalo in 2007 with a bachelor's degree in communication and in 2013 received her master's degree in higher education and student affairs administration from Buffalo State College. She joined the Office of College Relations in 2014 and is dedicated to providing excellence for College Relations and serves as a vital component for projects and events for the office.

Prior to Medaille, she worked in the offices of Student Life and Business Services at Buffalo State College and served as a Teacher Assistant for the Educational Opportunity Program at the University at Buffalo.

Jeanine Purcell (jeanine.purcell@medaille.edu) joined Medaille College as director of major gifts in the Office of College Relations in March  2012. She is a seasoned development professional with 25 years of fund raising experience in private high school and not-for-profit within the city of Buffalo. She served as the director of advancement at Sacred Heart Academy for five years and the director of development and public relations at Bishop Timon – St. Jude High School for 12 years. She is a board member of the Planned Giving Consortium and past board member of The Franciscan Center, Rental Assistance Corporation of Buffalo, Girl Scouts of Buffalo and Erie County. Purcell is a volunteer at Habitat for Humanity. She received her bachelor's degree from Buffalo State College and her master of arts in organizational leadership from Medaille.

Vicki Ward (vicki.l.ward@medaille.edu) has worked for Medaille's College Relations Office since 2004. As Director of Advancement Services, she maintains and manages Medaille's information on individuals and donations. She supports Medaille's projects for direct mail, fundraising, and communications. In addition she works and volunteers part-time for the Roswell Park Alliance Foundation. Ward has 17 years of experience in database management and plans to continue to pursue a degree through Medaille's accelerated learning program.

 

Patricia JettyPatricia Jetty ’13

Patricia Jetty (patricia.r.jetty@medaille.edu) graduated from Medaille in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. She went on to earn her master’s degree in public relations management from Buffalo State College in May of 2016. Patricia first joined the Office of College Relations in January of 2013 as an intern, returned in August of 2013 as a graduate assistant, and then served as the development administration specialist. Most recently, she has furthered her responsibilities with College Relations by taking on the role of Communications Coordinator in July of 2016.

During her time as an undergrad at Medaille, Patricia served as the marketing manager of the Commons Café, a student-run business located on the Buffalo campus, for two and a half years. In addition, she worked as a tutor in Medaille’s Academic Support Center and was highly involved in student organizations, including Enactus and Prelude.

Leah Eagan-Stoddard (Leah.M.Eagan-Stoddard@medaille.edujoined Medaille’s College Relations team in January 2015 as Manager of Annual Campaigns. Leah has more than 15 years of experience in business development and marketing. Her nonprofit experience includes fundraising for an arts organization and a social services agency. Leah has served on the boards of the Elmwood Village Charter School and Buffalo Urban Outdoor Education and as a volunteer coach for Girls on the Run and South Buffalo Soccer Club. She is currently a member of the Board of Directors for Mach Architecture. Leah has a B.A. from Wells College and an MBA and MSW from Boston College.

 

Nick KoziolNick Koziol
Director, Alumni Relations

Nick (Nicholas.J.Koziol@medaille.edustarted at Medaille College as Director of Alumni Relations in July 2015. Previously Nick worked at SUNY Cortland in several different capacities starting as a Residence Hall Director in the summer of 2004. In his third year of Residence Life and Housing, he was promoted to Towers Complex Coordinator. His work in Alumni Relations began in 2007 when he accepted the Associate Director of Alumni. Later in 2014 Nick was appointed Interim General Manager of the Parks Alumni House.  On that campus he was a member of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council, a Student Conduct Staff Justice, a member of the Student Leadership Recognition Committee and taught a COR 101 class in the Learning (In)Deed Learning Community. Nick is an alumnus of SUNY Fredonia and received his masters in Student Personnel Administration from Buffalo State College. He currently resides in Dryden, N.Y. with his wife Lori, and his four children.

 

Nick KoziolTyler Welsh
Alumni Engagement Coordinator

Tyler Welsh (tw442@medaille.edu) joined the Office of College Relations in October 2016 as the Alumni Engagement Coordinator. He is a Medaille College alum himself, having graduated in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in communications. As an undergrad, Tyler worked for admissions as a student ambassador, promoting the College and assisting incoming students. After graduating, he took over as the faculty advisor for The Perspective, the campus newspaper, working with students as an adjunct instructor. Tyler brings his experience in event planning, marketing, public relations and radio to his new role, and he has now worked with Medaille’s past, present and future students.
