Parent Advisory Council
The Parent Advisory Council (PAC) is designed to promote meaningful and active parent and guardian involvement in the College. Parents voluntarily work side by side with the college to help make the experiences of our students rewarding and to promote the Medaille College experience.
Sign up to learn more about this initiative with our Parent Advisory Council Interest Form.
The goals of the Parent Advisory Council are:
- To advise the College in areas that would foster open communication between the College and the parents, and on services and programs that would meet the needs of students and parents.
- To sponsor programs and services that meet the needs of parents and students.
- To involve parents and guardians in the College community and serve as resources to the college and its students.
- To serve as ambassadors for the College by supporting and promoting Medaille College in your local areas.
Membership
All parents of Medaille students automatically become members of the Parent Advisory Council (PAC). We encourage you to get involved by volunteering your time! Additionally, the PAC has an executive board of no less than five parent and guardian members who have volunteered to serve in this leadership role.
Participation
We urge you to take an active role in your student's Medaille experience by encouraging and sharing participation in activities such as athletic, cultural and social events, guest speakers and more. Students, parents and families are important to Medaille College! Participating in your child's college experience will help build learning and social foundations that will benefit them throughout their lifetime.
Committees
The Communication Committee develops and improves ways the College communicates with parents. Projects could include such initiatives newsletters, websites, events, etc.
The Programming Committee assists in developing parent sponsored programming/services such as birthday-grams, exam care packages, speakers, etc.
The Ambassadorship Committee is asked to represent Medaille College in their own community. The college can ask committee members to be involved in a function in their community or at Medaille College events as a representative of the Parent Advisory Council.
