Richard Davis

Interim President

Richard DavisIn Fall 2006, Richard Davis was appointed Interim President of Medaille College. He has been at Medaille since Fall 2005, serving as Vice President for Institutional Advancement and having overseen the Enrollment Management division.

Richard Davis was the Vice President for Institutional Advancement at Alvernia College in Reading, PA, prior to coming to Medaille. While there he was instrumental in the design and implementation of the College’s $8 million endowment campaign. Before joining Alvernia in 2000, Davis served in the same role at St. Scholastica College in Duluth, MN. During his 5 years at St. Scholastica, Davis doubled the annual giving to the college and designed a $22 million capital campaign. He began his experience in college development at Mount Mary College in Milwaukee, WI.

Before working in fund-raising and development, Davis taught at several universities, including Kent State, Drexel and Capital. His career in higher education also includes several leadership roles in admissions, alumni relations and marketing.

In addition to his professional experience, Davis has been an active member in the communities where he has worked. He has served on a number of boards, including the Humane Society of Berks County, Berks Classical Children’s Chorus and the Public Museum Board in Reading, PA. Davis also served as the president of the Institute of the Arts Board.

Davis earned his bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Pennsylvania. Davis also holds three master’s degrees (Public Administration, Temple University; History, Temple University; and MBA, Pennsylvania State University). He is a 28 year veteran of the United States Army Reserve, where he earned the rank of Major.
