Master of Science in Education (MSEd): Canadian Teacher Education Program

The Master of Science in Education program at Medaille College in Amherst, New York has been welcoming Canadian teacher education students into our programs for more than 25 years. Highly respected on both sides of the border, Medaille's personalized education program will give you preparation you need to become a highly skilled teacher.

If you were considering a traditional Canadian teacher's college, studying at Medaille enables you to become familiar with the U.S. educational system and obtain a graduate degree. As a Canadian teacher education student, you can take advantage of either our Master of Science in Education: Elementary program  or Medaille's Master of Science in Education: Adolescent program.

 Both will prepare you to qualify to apply for certification in New York State and the Province of Ontario, Canada.

Canadian Teacher Education Master's Degree Highlights

 

  • Receive a 20 percent tuition discount. All Canadian students qualify for this tuition break.
  • Choose from two flexible, scheduling plans: Two-days a week or every other weekend.
  • Receive academic and professional support from Medaille faculty and staff; we work closely with our students to make you feel welcome and ensure you get the information you need to succeed.
  • Start your program in May, September or January.
  • Receive an admissions decision soon after you complete the admissions process with our rolling admissions plan. (Please apply several months before the start of the semester in which you plan to enroll.)
  • Participate in the Medaille College Canadian Community, an online resource where you can share information about carpools, lodging, books and classes.
  • Recent Medaille graduates passed the Assessment of Teaching Skills-Written (ATS-W) Elementary and Secondary exams at a rate of 100 percent.

Duration: The Master of Science in Education: Elementary Education is a 42-credit, 12-16-month program, depending on the schedule you choose.

The Master of Science in Education: Adolescent Education is a 30-credit, 8-12-month program, depending on the schedule you choose.

Classes are taught at Medaille College's Amherst, New York campus.
