‡ Canadian adolescent student teachers: If your first placement occurs in a secondary school operating on the semester basis, these schools have first semester final exams January 24-30, 2013. This means you must have a conversation with your associate teacher prior to the start of your placement to determine what you can be doing during this week. For example:

  1. Observe, help, etc., your associate teacher during exam week;
  2. Review the curriculum planner so that you are prepared to begin teaching at least one class the following week;
  3. Develop a series of teaching lessons as directed by your associate teacher; or
  4. Formulate your teaching unit as directed by your associate teacher

*Subject to change.

I'm grateful for the education I've received.

The instructors were knowledgeable and welcomed class discussions, with
respect for each student's contribution. I've learned how to be a more
effective leader. My capstone class gave insight on how to combine all
the education learned to operate a business. That's when I realized how
much I had sharpened my knowledge.
