Welcome to North Residence Hall and the Residence Houses! My name is Karen Schranz and I am the Residence Director for these areas. I was born and raised in Rochester, New York. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Nazareth College of Rochester, where I worked as a Resident Assistant for two years.
After finishing my Bachelor’s, I went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Social Work with a Concentration in Family and Community from the Greater Rochester Collaborative Program (a division of Nazareth College and SUNY Brockport). During this time, I worked as a Graduate Resident Assistant at Nazareth College. After working in a rural/suburban school just outside of Rochester for a year, I decided to come back to Residence Life because it had been such an integral part of my life since beginning my college career! Of course it doesn’t hurt that I have been a Buffalo Bills and Sabres fan for as long as I can remember!
As a Residence Director at Medaille College, I plan to work with students, faculty, and staff to provide a meaningful and memorable experience to all of our residents! In addition to my role as the RD for North Residence Hall and the houses, I will be serving as the Resident Student Council Advisor.
