Student Teaching
Office of Student Teaching/Certification
The Student Teaching Experience at Medaille College provides students with a variety of hands-on opportunities in preparing them to become classroom teachers. The foundational knowledge in graduate education coursework and the early field experiences prior to student teaching prepares the students to experience the instructional and non-instructional responsibilities of a classroom setting.
Medaille College student teachers participate in two, full-time student teaching placement experiences in the greater western New York area and in the province of Ontario and are guided by associate teachers (classroom teachers) and college supervisors during the placements. Student teaching expectations and requirements are provided in more detail in the Student Teaching Handbook.
