Student Teaching Placement Information

Flowcharts

The Student Teaching Placement Flowcharts provide the step-by-step process and timetable that is followed in the placement of student teachers.

The Student Teaching Office is involved in numerous telephone calls, emails, and faxes to school board/districts/ contact person(s). This correspondence assists us with conferring final student teaching placements.

Final decisions on student teaching placements are the responsibility of the school/board/district/contact person(s).

Complete the Student Teaching Placement Form and Profile Sheet and email it to stuteach@medaille.edu by September 15 for spring semester placements and by February 1 for fall semester placements.

Police Record Check Screening

All Canadian education students are required to complete a satisfactory Police Record Check Screening prior to participation in student teaching or other voluntary experiences with children.

Students will need to contact the school board assigned to confirm that the Board will process the screening or refer them to a local police station.

Select boards will require that a student process screening via the OESC (Ontario Education Services Corporation), www.oesc-cseo.org (416-205-9545)

Currently, Niagara Catholic, District School Board of Niagara, Peel Public, and the Halton Public Boards require the OESC screening.
