About Susan C. Steffan:

Susan Steffan has taught courses in Medaille's BBA, MBA, and MOL programs since 1997, and she joined the full-time faculty in 2009. She earned an M.B.A. with a concentration in corporate finance and a bachelor's degree in management with a minor in psychology from the State University of New York at Buffalo. She was a University Honors Scholar and M&T Fellow.

In addition to her experience teaching at Medaille, Steffan has worked in the corporate world in a variety of finance, marketing, and managerial positions. Her past experience includes Senior Operations Analyst at Hearst Publishing, and Senior Buyer, Supervisor for Market Research and Business Planning, Divisional Business Planner, and Senior Marketing and Advertising Specialist at Delphi Automotive.

Professor Steffan works with the Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership and the Entrepreneurial Assistance Program, training local business leaders and entrepreneurs in financial planning and business strategy. She also coordinates the MBA Capstone experience, matching local businesses with MBA students to develop business plans for new start-up companies, expansions, and corporate turnarounds.  Steffan consults for private businesses in the areas of financial training, negotiations training, cost control, and business plan development.

Professor Steffan is committed to experiential education and focuses her accounting, finance, negotiations, and capstone classes on academic theories and tools that can immediately be applied to her students’ current and future careers.  She serves as Chair of the Accelerated Learning Program Council and Vice President of the Medaille Chapter of the Sigma Beta Delta Honor Society for business students.
