FAQ

Max with StudentsFrequently Asked Questions

How do I access my Blackboard courses?

Choose the link to Blackboard within your Medaille360 account, on the University website footer, or by visiting blackboard.medaille.edu.

Can you change things in my course for my instructor?

We cannot. Your instructor is the master of the course and is responsible for all content, assessments, assignment deadlines, etc.  Please contact your instructor about course related questions and deadlines.  We cannot change or reset course assignments for you.

What’s Blackboard for online courses?

Blackboard (Bb) is the course management system that college courses use for online course work for all courses and programs, online, hybrid and on-ground course supplementation.

What is Bb Learn Ultra and how can I learn more about it?

Bb Learn Ultra is the Bb learning management system that we use at Medaille. All students will be enrolled in a Student Ultra Training course that takes 1-2 hours to complete. You will find it on your Bb course listing page. The training has tip sheets, video tutorials and learning activities to help acclimate you with expectations your instructors will have as you participate in coursework. Many instructors require you to submit your reviewed grade report that shows successful completion of the training in the first week of class. Be sure to complete this important training!

Which internet browser do I use when working in Blackboard?

Use Google Chrome! Other browsers may work, but not all the time. You will have issues with blank pages, incompatible assignment submissions and a variety of other glitches.

When do I contact the Office of Online Learning or the Office on Information Technology (IT)?

The Office of Online Learning (elearning@medaille.edu, (716) 880-2358 or visit Main 203) will assist you with how to navigate your online courses and the tools needed to complete your work in Bb. The IT Helpdesk (helpdesk@medaille.edu, (716) 880-2282 or visit Main 203) will assist you with your account pick-up, email, and other computer related issues. Contact your instructor regarding course content and questions.

Where do I find support resources for Blackboard?

You can find resources on this page, under the Student Resources tab on the Office of Online Learning webpage. Additional videos and tip sheets can be found on the IT Blackboard Resources tab on the IT webpage. If you need to speak to someone about your Bb course, stop in to Main 203 or call (716) 880-2358.
