About Kristy Tyson

Kristy F. Tyson is a Buffalo, NY native and Assistant Professor of the Practice and Program Director for the Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership Program at Medaille College. Tyson is also an Instructor for the Business and Liberal Arts Department at Bryant and Stratton College.

Her approach to teaching, she said, is based on equity and inclusion. “I infuse my life experiences into my teaching and am always mindful of the real interests and struggles of the students. I take responsibility for more than just myself and teach business to foster the imminent ethical change that is needed in the next generation of supervisors, managers, CEOs, and leaders.”

Tyson is currently a doctoral candidate in the Doctor of Management, Organizational Leadership program at the University of Phoenix. She is driven to inspire students, youth, and the community to pursue academic, professional, and personal excellence. Tyson has worked with organizations like the NAACP, the National Urban League, and AmeriCorps to empower others. Plus, she sits as a community liaison, advocate, or board member of many community non-profit organizations and is a Racial Healing Circle facilitator and diversity trainer for The National Federation for Just Communities of Western New York.

Tyson will continue to demonstrate that even ordinary people can make extraordinary contributions.
