Literacy Advanced Certificate

Perfect for professional educators who already hold a master's degree, Medaille's advanced certification in literacy will make you a more marketable teacher. Meet our education faculty.

About the Advanced Certificate in Literacy

The advanced certificate program in literacy at Medaille College is perfect for professional educators who already hold a master's degree and are eligible for certification in New York State. Our advanced certification in literacy requires you to take state-mandated coursework and demonstrate practical literacy teaching abilities, all in just two or three semesters, depending on which track you choose. Earn your advanced certificate in literacy not only to better prepare your students, but also to become a more marketable teacher overall.

Teaching Students How to Write

We’re very proud of our literacy programs and how well they prepare students to be effective teachers. Our students benefit from instructors that have real-world experience as literacy specialists and coaches. The coursework offers opportunities for hands-on experiences and a supportive environment in which to grow and work. Our graduates come back to share their knowledge with the students that follow them. It’s a testament to the strength of the program!
