Associate and Bachelor's Degrees Admission Requirements

Medaille College welcomes applications from first time or transfer students for our associate and bachelor programs designed for the working adult. We value the experience and maturity that these students bring with them. Our goal is to offer a hassle-free application and transfer process, consideration of as much transfer credit as possible, and an easy transition into the Medaille College Community.

  1. Medaille College Online Application

  2. Official high school transcripts or GED with scores

  3. Official transcripts from all colleges or universities attended

  4. An applicant who has had previous academic deficiencies will be asked to write an explanation of performance and motivation to complete the online program.  Admission may be offered with appropriate evidence supporting the student's ability to succeed.

  5. FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) if you wish to apply for financial aid.

  6. Entrance GPA 2.0 for transfer students

 

Additional Requirements for AAS-VET Students

  1. College-level science and math courses desired, but not required

  2. Previous clinical/field experience recommended, not required

  3. Proof of current tetanus immunization

  4. Knowledge of the profession and its degree requirements as well as a desire/interest to work with animals is essential.

  5. An understanding of the physical, emotional and communication requirements of the profession as well as the health risks posed in this profession.

    *Signed acknowledgement forms for the Technical Standards and Physical Requirements of the Veterinary Technology program

    *Signed Program and Informed Acknowledgement and Consent Form to potential Health Risks and Hazards for the Veterinary Technology Program.

  6. Acknowledgement that documentation of criminal charges will be requested from NYSED for licensure approval.
    NYSED and the Office of Professional holds all responsibility for determination of licensure approvals after program completion.  Medaille College is not responsible for denial of licensure by the New York State Department of Education and The Office of the Professions for students with criminal records.  Specific requirements for licensure vary from State to State.  It is solely the responsibility of the student to research the requirements of states outside of New York they are seeking to become licensed or certified in and to submit all required documentation.

Notes:

  1. Failure to disclose and provide transcripts from every school you have attended could result in your application being withdrawn or admissions decision being revoked.

  2. Applicants who attended school outside of the United States or Canada must have their transcripts translated into English by a recognized agency. We accept any services that is a member of NACES (www.naces.org).

Rolling Admission

Medaille College has rolling admissions where acceptances are offered on an ongoing basis until classes are filled. You will be notified of a decision within two weeks of completing the application. To maximize your eligibility for financial aid it is in your best interest to apply early in your application process.
