The Distinguished Alumni Award

The Distinguished Alumni Award is presented to a certified alumnus or alumna who has performed with distinction at the highest levels of his or her profession, and who has contributed in a significant and impactful way to the advancement and leadership of noteworthy civic, philanthropic or service organizations. Those alumni honored by this award have brought distinction to Medaille and the greater community through their persistent professional, community and philanthropic achievements.

The Influential Young Alumni Award

The Influential Young Alumni Award is presented to an alum who has graduated within the last 10 years. Nominees must have demonstrated a strong foundation for a future career path. This award recognizes Medaille College alumni for distinguishing themselves in their careers, and rendering outstanding service to the College, Alumni Association or local community. The results of these efforts bring honor to the graduate and to the College.

Outstanding Mentor of the Year Award

The Outstanding Mentor of the Year Award is presented to an individual (a coach, staff member, faculty member, alum or student) who serves as a great leader and has a positive impact on students and their success. A nominee may serve as a mentor through a formal mentoring program (such as the Alumni Mentoring Program, the TRiO Peer Mentoring Program, etc.), or through an informal capacity. The key roles of a mentor include, but are not limited to, nurturing intellectual growth, fostering career development, providing professional guidance, or serving as a positive role model.

The Honorary Alumni Award is given to an individual who has not graduated from Medaille College but has a close association with the College. Through that association, he/she has contributed in a significant way, to the extent that it benefits the greater College community.

Medaille Pride Faculty Award

The Medaille Pride Award for Faculty recognizes faculty members who have consistently demonstrated pride in Medaille College through their active involvement and support of social media, College events, initiatives, programs and/or athletic contests. Throughout their tenure with the College, the recipients represent model supporters of Medaille in the greater campus community. Those honored have had a great impact, not just on the College, but on the success of students and the whole Medaille community.

Nominations will be accepted and awards distributed as applicable within the following three categories:

  • Full-time faculty members
  • Adjunct faculty members
  • Emeritus (retired) faculty

This award recognizes an individual who is a friend of Medaille College but is not a student, alum or employee. This individual consistently demonstrates pride in Medaille through their active involvement and support of social media, participation in events, initiatives, programs and/or athletic contests. The recipient represents a model supporter of Medaille College in the greater campus community.

Medaille College Colors Day 2018 Award Nominations

  • Please select which award you would like to nominate for
  • Nominators can select multiple awards; can be same or different nominee for each award
  • Nominators may submit more than one nomination for same award, but must submit separate applications
  • Nominations are due by Monday, April 30, 2018
  • Nominees for whom completed applications are received will be notified of their nomination
  • A selection committee made up of Medaille Alumni Association Board members and College Colors Day Committee members will review all completed applications and select one award winner per each category
  • Award recipients will be recognized at the #MedaillePride Awards Social on September 5, 2018 at 5 p.m. in the Medaille Events Arena
