Community Partnerships

Medaille is committed to building long-lasting relationships with local organizations to make the Western New York region a better place in which to live, to work, and to learn..

As part of the Buffalo region, Medaille has taken on an aspiration much larger than just an educational mission. We will be known as the leader in preparing learners for career success and a lifelong commitment to a civic and sustainable future in Buffalo, the region, and the world.

In “Bridging the High School to College Gap,” Medaille is partnering with the Buffalo Public Schools to provide support to the new academies at Riverside High School.  Medaille has taken a leadership role in the development of Riverside’s Entrepreneurship Academy and creation of the Academy for Creativity and Entrepreneurship.

Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy

Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy, Medaille’s neighbor to the north, operates six major parks in Buffalo and is dedicated to the preservation and maintenance of these spaces.  For many students, Medaille is where college meets career through internships with the conservancy. Other students take advantage of tours of park facilities, team-building activities, and introductions to the parks’ history and natural history.
The New York State Entrepreneurial Assistance Program (EAP) is located on the Medaille Campus and offers education and counseling services to help aspiring entrepreneurs start their own businesses.  Medaille College helps maximize the program’s effectiveness by connecting it with the Western New York community. Business students also intern with the EAP and all Medaille students can take advantage of the entrepreneurship training.
Medaille College hosts the Small Business Association/Score Buffalo Niagara Straight Talk Series.  The Straight Talk Series exposes entrepreneurs and small business owners to information and resources about starting or growing a small business. Participants can also obtain one-on-one business counseling, speak to representatives from local business resources, and network with other entrepreneurs and small business owners.  The entire Medaille community can take advantage of SBA and SCORE resources.

Speak Your Mind and Shape Your World began in 2003 as a small writing group for students which led to a handbound literary journal developed during a summer program sponsored by GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) and Medaille College. Since then, the project has expanded their journals into professionally created softcover publications, which include CD supplements and artist note cards.
