About Dr. Elizabeth L. Kinan:

Elizabeth Kinan, Ph.D., Ed.M. Dr. Kinan, is a full time faculty member of the Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program at Medaille College, teaching courses such as, Assessment and Appraisal, Human Growth and Development, Ethics, and Social and Cultural Foundations.

In her role as a school counselor, student behavior and bullying was a major concern. Her research focuses on this area, and her dissertation entitled, “Teacher Attitudes Toward Three Types of Bullying,” quantitatively examined teacher attitudes, the likelihood of intervention, as well as the method of intervention. Dr. Kinan has spent much time doing educational and professional development workshop trainings around prevention and intervention strategies in bullying, behavioral classroom and school management, and promoting positive school climates.
