About Dr. Keith Klostermann:

Keith Klostermann, PhD, LMHC, is  assistant professor of the master's in clinical mental health counseling program for Medaille College. Dr. Klostermann's research involves the investigation of intimate partner violence among married or cohabiting substance-abusing individuals. Recently, he served as the principal investigator on a National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism investigation that examined treatments for alcoholism and intimate partner violence. Dr. Klostermann has been an active contributor to the scientific knowledge base as evidenced by his 36 publications and 40 presentations. In 2008, he was selected to participate in the National Institute of Health's highly competitive Summer Institute on the Design and Conduct of Randomized Clinical Trials Involving Behavioral Interventions. He is also a participant in the Student Loan Repayment Program, sponsored by the National Institute of Health. Dr. Klostermann has served as a guest editor and peer reviewer for a number of scientific journals. Dr. Klostermann also serves as a clinical and research consultant for several outpatient counseling programs across New York State and Canada and maintains an active private practice specializing in work with couples and families.
